These are the numbers Bocca's built-in food tables give for each portion: Ciqual for France, CoFID for the UK, the Canadian Nutrient File and USDA for North America. With a photo, the AI finds the foods and their weight; the tables do the maths.

First, snap the plate.

Fair questions

How accurate is a photo?

It's an estimate, the way a dietitian would eyeball a plate. Bocca lists every food it sees with its weight in grams, so you can change a portion or remove a food before saving.

The calories and macros then come from official food tables: Ciqual (France), CoFID (UK), the Canadian Nutrient File and USDA FoodData Central (US).

What can I do for free?

Barcode scanning, search across 23,658 foods, manual logging, saved meals, water, weight, fasting and progress, with no time limit. You also get 3 AI analyses to see how it reads your own food.

Bocca Pro unlocks AI for every meal.

What happens to my photos?

A photo travels once over an encrypted connection to our server, which asks Google's Gemini model to read it. We don't store it. Google processes it under its paid API terms, which don't use your data to train its models.

Your meals, weight and photos are kept on your iPhone, not in an online account.

Do I need an account?

No. Bocca signs you in anonymously so your free analyses and subscription work. There's no email or password to create.

How do I cancel?

In your iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions, at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You keep Pro until then.

Is Bocca a medical app?

No. Bocca helps you see what you eat; it doesn't diagnose or treat anything. If you live with a medical condition or an eating disorder, follow the advice of your doctor or dietitian.

Your next plate is one photo away.
